This policy explains how your data is handled when you use SnapShot Memory. In short: your entries stay on your device, and I, as the developer, collect no data from this app.
Data collection
SnapShot Memory's App Store privacy label is “Data Not Collected”. The app doesn't ask you to create an account, and it doesn't use analytics, ad networks, third-party tracking tools, or an external backend server.
The notes you write, the photos you add, and the locations you save are not sent to me or to third parties.
Device permissions
Depending on the features you use, the app may ask for the permissions below. You can revoke any of them at any time in your device's Settings app; if you do, only the related feature stops working.
- Photos and Camera — to add photos to your notes.
- Location — to tie a note to a place, remember where you parked, and for location-based reminders like “Remind me when I leave here”.
- Notifications — to alert you in time before your notes expire.
- Face ID — to lock and unlock protected notes.
- Microphone and Speech Recognition — to take voice notes.
- Siri and Shortcuts — to create notes with voice commands and shortcuts.
- Nearby Interaction — to show the direction and distance of people around you in Nearby Share.
Microphone, speech recognition, and Siri
The microphone is used only when you start taking a voice note. What you say is converted to text with Apple's speech recognition, and the resulting note is stored on your device. Your voice recordings are not sent to me.
Commands you give through Siri and Shortcuts are processed by Apple and are subject to Apple's privacy policy. From these commands, the app receives only the information needed to create or update the note.
Smart suggestions
SnapSense offers duration, location, and protection suggestions based on the text you write. The clipboard suggestion recognizes whether the content you copied is a link, a phone number, or a package tracking code. This content is used only to offer suggestions and is not sent to me.
Nearby Share
When you choose to send a note to someone nearby, the note is transferred directly between the two devices, not over the internet or through a server. Sharing happens only when you start it.
Feedback
When you send feedback from within the app, your message is sent through your device's own email setup. In that case, I see your email address and what you wrote only in order to reply to you.
Data storage and deletion
All of your entries are kept in your device's local storage. Notes are deleted automatically when the lifetime you set runs out, and you can delete any note yourself whenever you like. When you delete the app, all entries are removed from your device.
Children
SnapShot Memory is rated 4+. The app collects no data from any user, whatever their age, and doesn't require creating an account.
Your rights under KVKK
Under Law No. 6698 on the Protection of Personal Data (KVKK), Turkey's data protection law, you have the right to access your personal data and to request that it be corrected or deleted.
Because your entries in the app exist only on your device, you can exercise these rights directly within the app: you can view, edit, and delete your notes. I don't hold a copy of these entries. If you have corresponded with me by email, you can send requests about that correspondence to the address below.
Changes
This policy may be updated as new features are added to the app. Significant changes are published on this page, and the date at the top is updated.
